Alan Barnes Yuletide Jam

Alan Barnes Yuletide Jam

Alan and Bruce have had this gig ‘in the book’ for months but the band as now listed came about after a brilliant set at this year’s Ribble Valley Jazz Festival, deemed too good not to repeat; Including the rhythm section of Les Chisnall, Steve Berry and the fantastically swingin’ Dave Walsh. It’s a while since we featured a jam session at a club gig but it doesn’t get better than this. A special welcome return to Roy Williams who was at SMJ’s first gig in 1991 and Art's another club favourite to complete a great line-up.

Frank Garner and Friends

Frank Garner and Friends

To wind up our Christmas Special (and our club's 20th birthday year) our jazz club director and pianist Frank Garner will lead the party time finale. This is the really unpredictable and, from recent past experience, highly entertaining time to relax with a Christmas drink or three and see what develops.
