Alex Hutton Trio

Following the critical success of his ‘Songs From The Seven Hills’ album, Sheffield born and US educated pianist and composer Alex Hutton has been back in the recording studio with these two world class musicians and a new suite of tunes he has written and arranged with their creative abilities in mind.

Israeli Asaf Sirkis has built a reputation in the UK and Europe as a master jazz percussionist through his work with Gilad Atzmon, John Law, Gwilym Simcock, Tim Garland and as band leader and composer.

Russian Yuri Goloubev was trained in the Moscow Conservatory, gaining a Masters degree in double bass and Honoured Artist of Russia award. Yuri moved to Italy in 2005 to take up his true calling as a jazz bassist, since when he has featured on over 70 recordings, and  is first call bassist for many touring US stars. Both Asaf and Yuri are no strangers to our club audience.

Alex Hutton makes his debut appearance at SMJ to introduce this latest trio CD issued in May entitled ‘Legentis’ which MOJO’s Pat Gilbert has described as “some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard - in any genre” and has been critiqued elsewhere as “downright hypnotic and totally absorbing in its brilliance and beauty. Utterly captivating.” Don’t miss this.
