Jazz on a Winter's Weekend 2015

This content relates to a historical event in our Archive. It is preserved here for reference.

We are delighted to present SMJ’s 11th Jazz on a Winter’s Weekend festival at Southport’s Best Western Royal Clifton Hotel. We have a strong programme with our hallmark mix of international and UK bands: top line stars and some extraordinarily talented young players; a range of established ensembles from duo to big band over the 11 two hour gigs; plus our much enjoyed ‘fringe’ of exhibitions, talks, master-classes and workshop options. Add to that our ‘Jazz Shop’ and lunchtime bar jazz. We are pleased to welcome John Taylor and Dr Tom Sykes to join the SMJ event team and to thank Paddy Taberon and Frank Garner, both approaching their 80th birthdays in 2014, who have retired after many years of inspirational work at the festival. The newly augmented team will strive to guard our reputation for smooth running, programme variety and the all important element of ensuring a good time is had by all. Here are a few recent review snippets that we fully intend to live up to in 2015:
