Brigitte Beraha and John Turville with special guest Bobby Wellins
Sunday 20th January 2013, 8 p.m.

This trio is on tour to celebrate the release of their new standards album ‘Red Skies’ recorded in Italy at the beautiful Artesuono studio. With the supremely talented Brigitte Beraha (voice), John Turville (piano) and the fantastic and hugely popular Bobby Wellins (tenor sax), the result is lush sounding, spontaneous and rich in emotion. They play an eclectic choice of material ranging from well known jazz standards and latin gems to contemporary songs. It’s worth including a snippet from Guardian jazz critic & writer John Fordham about John - “John Turville’s adventurousness with harmony and the always lyrical yet narratively swerving designs of his improvisation often recall UK piano giant John Taylor’s playing.” Fordham also describes Brigitte’s voice as “Pure toned, wide ranging.” And Bobby? Well, we all know, he’s just a genius and one of Britain’s greatest ever jazz saxophonists.
