Brigitte Beraha Trio with Bobby Wellins
Sunday 22nd September 2013, 8 p.m.

We are pleased to reinstate the gig cancelled in January due to very severe weather and snow. This trio's tour to celebrate the release of their new standards album 'Red Skies' recorded in Italy at the beautiful Artesuono studio yielded some great revues. It is lush sounding, spontaneous and rich in emotion. They play an eclectic choice of material ranging from well known jazz standards and latin gems to contemporary songs. It's worth including a snippet from Guardian jazz critic & writer John Fordham about John - “John Turville’s adventurousness with harmony and the always lyrical yet narratively swerving designs of his improvisation often recall UK piano giant John Taylor’s playing.” Fordham also describes Brigitte’s voice as “Pure toned, wide ranging.” And Bobby? Well, we all know, he’s just a genius and one of Britain’s greatest ever jazz saxophonists. www.brigitteberaha.com
