For vocalists with an ambition for the jazz idiom who want to benefit from the experience of two of the leading UK based jazz singers. The workshop covers singing techniques, jazz phrasing, story telling through lyrics and vocal improvisation. Although it is an intensive two hour course it is also great fun and highly inspirational. Trudy and Anita are world class vocalists admired and respected by their peers. This is a great opportunity for an insight into the world of vocal jazz. Saturday 10am-12.30pm Osborne 2 Suite
Steve Waterman
For musicians (any instrument) wishing to explore or improve improvisation skills who are looking for guidance and confidence building advice from a master of the art. Music reading not essential, but participants need to have a good command of their instrument. Steve is a renowned jazz educator running his own big band course as well as being highly in demand for many other courses and workshops here and abroad. He is professor of Jazz Trumpet at Trinity College of Music in London and visiting Jazz Trumpet specialist at The Royal Northern College Of Music and The Royal Welsh College Of Music And Drama.
